Two perspectives, one mission. Add fun back in fitness & do good for the environment.
When New Delhi-based Stretchery founders Jeenie Madan and Nirali Mehta met, they had wildly different approaches to fashion, and life in general. Jeenie, is an innovative entrepreneur and Nirali, is a passionate designer. One day, the ever-present undercurrent of challenging themselves took over and blossomed into a shared vision: Bringing people the experience of feeling good outside while they work towards feeling good inside. The seed had been sown to create fun clothing for all those who lead an active life by combining comfort & style by using natural & sustainable design! And after lots of caffeine-fueled phone sessions discussing their inspirations while huddled up in their tiny room, Stretchery was born: the brainchild of two friends combining all the quirks of their unique talents. At Stretchery, we aim to make fashion meet fitness, making people more sensitive towards right clothing but also towards the environmental impact. We are proud to offer organic and sustainable fitness wear to our customers, with in-house designed eco-friendly, fair produce using 100% Organic Cotton. Our sustainable business practice is reflected in our mission: “Comfort to help you breathe easy, Style so you can flaunt it, and in line with your Conscience.” We want to be the reason for your stretch!
Organic, sustainable, high quality fabric. Zero chemicals.
Organic is the essence for us and our world. Besides the quality-of-life benefits from organic cotton, the quality of clothing produced from organic cotton is also substantially higher. Organic cotton isn’t just softer to the touch; it contains zero chemicals, making it a superior fabric for allergies and sensitive skin. It is an excellent absorbent material, yet is very breathable. Higher quality fabric means higher durability, which is a vital component of sustainability. And because the longer you use it, the less stuff you need. Less is more! Organic cotton represents a return to safe and sustainable practices. It is grown with natural fertilizers and is free from toxic chemicals. Organic farmers use biologically-based, rather than chemically-dependent growing systems to raise crops. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture. By producing apparel made from organic cotton, we save the earth from almost 1/3 of a pound of harmful chemicals per garment. Staying true to our ethos, we have fashioned a collection with our painstaking attention to detail, creating clothes that are for fun-loving people who care about themselves and care about the impact they have on the world around them.
Fair Trade. Good for the body, the mind and the heart.
Our simple, yet edgy apparel is designed in-house and manufactured in India by a Fair Trade certified company & all our products are GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) approved. Our cotton is sourced from Chetna Organic, a factory adhering to Fair Trade principles ensuring proper conditions and justice for workers. Water based eco-friendly dyes containing non-toxic chemicals are used tastefully in a visual language unique to our products. From the yarn to pattern making, sampling, printing, cutting, stitching and finally packing, every step is done under one roof with the help of a wonderful workforce. Fair-trade ensures a respect for the social, economic and labour rights of farmers and workers along the entire supply chain. It encourages sustainable farming practices, protects the environment and improves the quality of health and well being for farmers and workers. Buy simple, buy organic. GOTS is the “green” standard to which Organic Cotton Textiles are produced. GOTS defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria as well.
